Hanauma Bay has a NEW Reservation System
Starting in April 2021 tickets must be Reserved & Paid in advance for the mandatory 9-minute orientation video. Reservations can be made for up to 10 people – 5 Adults and/or 5 kids.
• Local residents with current valid Hawaii ID may enter without a reservation from 6:45 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Tickets Open at 7 A.M. (HST)
Reservations open daily at 7:00 a.m. local time (HST) and must be made 48 hours before your visit date. For example, if you plan to visit on Thursday, your tickets will need to be booked at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. -
Limited Availability
Tickets are in high demand and can sell out quickly. Often, they’re gone within 5 to 10 minutes, though sometimes availability lasts up to 30 minutes. Be ready to book as soon as reservations open to secure your spot. -

First-come, first-served, even with a reservation. Arrive early.
Transportation Package
Includes round-trip Waikiki hotel pickup, snorkel gear (fins, mask, snorkel), and no advance reservations required. Simply pay $25 in cash per person at the entrance.

- You may rent Snorkel Gear at the bay or bring your own
- Hanauma Bay is open Wednesday through Sunday from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drive Your Own Vehicle
- Parking costs $3 for general visitors and $1 for locals.
- There are 300 parking spaces available, but spots fill up quickly due to high demand, and availability is not guaranteed.
- Security personnel are on-site to ensure safety.
- If you plan to drive, make sure to book your tickets online through the Parks and Recreation website.

Parking Fees

Parking fee is refundable if vehicle exits parking lot within 15 minutes

Park opens at 6:45 am
Park closes at 4:00 pm
• Last video at the park is 1:40 pm
• No entry after 1:30 pm
• Guests start to exit the beach at 3:00 pm
• Gates at highway close at 4pm

The park is also closed on: Christmas Day (25th) and New Years Day (1st)
Yes, reservations are required to watch the 9-minute orientation video. If you’re driving to the Bay, visit the Honolulu Department of Parks & Recreation website to book your time slot. Reservations open 48 hours in advance at 7:00 a.m. HST. You’ll receive an email confirmation after booking, but changes are not allowed once the reservation is made. For added convenience, consider the Hanauma Bay Transportation package.
At Hanauma Bay, snorkel rentals are conveniently available from a vendor located at the bottom of the hill near the bathrooms. A full set of snorkel gear, which includes a mask, snorkel, and fins, is available for $25. Additionally, life vests are offered for those who need extra support in the water. The rental booth opens daily at 7:00 a.m., making it easy to gear up early for your day of underwater exploration.

Lockers at Hanauma Bay offer a convenient solution for keeping your personal items secure while you snorkel. Located at the bottom of the hill, near the vendor area, these lockers come in two sizes to suit your needs—small for compact belongings and large for bulkier items. This service allows you to explore the underwater beauty of Hanauma Bay worry-free, knowing your valuables are safely stored.
The Snack Bar at Hanauma Bay is conveniently located right across from the main entrance where visitors pay to enter. It offers a wide selection of sandwiches and refreshing beverages, perfect for fueling up before or after your snorkeling adventure. Please note, this is a credit-card-only establishment, so cash payments are not accepted.
You can also bring your own cooler with food and beverages down to the beach level

Tram service between the upper & lower levels is now included with entry fee. Beach wheelchairs are available for free, check with volunteers at Hanauma Bay.
